Section 1 – The emergency responder’s role, Pool Safety Operating Procedures, types of pools & swimmer safety information
Section 2 – Responding to an emergency and the Emergency Action Plan
Section 3 – CPR and First Aid (inc basic AED use)
Additional subjects can be added to the syllabus:
Total hours with AED Bolt-on = 14.5 hours
Total hours with Spinal Board Bolt-on = 15 hours (without AED)
Total hours with AED and Spinal Board Bolt-ons = 16.5 hours
The Emergency Response Pool programme is also designed to train ancillary staff to backup and support the lifeguard team (if available) and staff that respond to an emergency.
To comply with the HSE publication ‘Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools’, pool operators are strongly recommended to refer to figure 3 on page 66, to determine if continuous or occasional poolside supervision is required.
This course is delivered on site at the clients venue and requires a minimum of 4 participants. IS+Training is unable to supply the venue so unable to deliver this course to individuals. Group bookings with access to a swimming pool only.
