IS+Training Award – Basic First Aid and Advance

For all local groups i.e. Boys Brigade, DofE, Scouts, Cubs, Brownies, Guides, Princes Trust, Youth Clubs and Cadet Forces.

We are able to attend groups to deliver training for the members to obtain First Aid knowledge or to achieve a required badge/award. We offer a practical fun approach in the learning of basic first aid skills and are able to teach a set syllabus if required to.

 Duration of course is 2-3 hours (depending on numbers of attendees). The course is aimed to be one 45 minute lesson a week spread over a period 4 weeks, consisting of practical and theoretical activities.  Lessons can be planned to suite the requirement of the school/group. (This can be arranged to fit into the schools timetable).


A range of subjects is covered including:

  • Assessment of the situations
  • Resuscitation – adult & child
  • Choking – adult & child
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Management of Seizures
  • Minor injuries (including bleeding & fractures)
  • Head injuries
  • Breathing difficulties
  • AED (when requested)


An achievement certificate is awarded to students who complete all the syllabus

A maximum of 12 people per lesson is ideal.
